IMA allows professors to nominate their students to receive a Student Scholarship, and the students get to choose if their scholarship applies to the CMA or FMAA.

Professors at IMA-endorsed schools can nominate 10 students per academic year for a scholarship. Professors at IMA Partner schools can nominate 3 students.
All students nominated by a professor will earn a scholarship as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.
For Professors
Fill out the nomination form found on IMA’s page Opens in new window to nominate your students. Nominations are accepted from September 1 – June 30 each academic year.
For Students
You cannot nominate yourself for the scholarship, so reach out to your professor about filling out the nomination form. Students must be IMA members to be nominated, so make sure you already have an IMA member account.
IMA offers several other scholarship opportunities that students can qualify for. Check out each of these opportunities to see if you meet the criteria to apply. Each program has different application windows and deadlines each year, so be sure to check the deadlines for each scholarship.
Stuart Cameron & Margaret McLeod Memorial Scholarship (SCMS)
This scholarship awards $5,000 to students actively involved in their IMA Chapter. It also includes free registration and travel for select IMA conferences and mentorship opportunities.

IMA Century Scholarship Award
This scholarship recognizes two IMA student members with $7,500 and a CMA scholarship. The students must be from IMA Endorsed Schools or active members of an IMA student chapter.
It’s open to undergraduate seniors or graduate students in the accounting field. IMA aims to award this scholarship to students with a passion for volunteering and being a leader in the management accounting profession.

CMA Doctoral Scholarship Program
This scholarship supports eligible doctoral students with a package that includes:
To apply, you must be in a globally accredited doctoral accounting program concentrating in management accounting or financial management. You’ll be required to create an account with IMA and submit the completed application form with a letter from the head of your doctoral problem.

IMA Doctoral Scholars Program
This program awards up to $10,000 in research funding to support students in accredited doctoral programs conducting research that furthers the profession of management accounting. The fund amounts awarded vary by what stage you’re at in your doctoral program and the timing of your specific research project.

EFWA Scholarships for Women in Accounting
IMA partners with the Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting to award multiple scholarships annually to support women pursuing an accounting degree at an accredited college or university.
The scholarship amounts range from $1,500 to $2,000 and the recipients also receive:

IMA Student Chapter Award of Excellence
IMA awards Student Chapters that excel at providing activities and services to their members and promote IMA’s mission to advance the profession. Chapters are eligible for bronze, silver, or gold achievement, and gold winners receive $500.

IMA Clark Johnson Achievement Award
The winning chapter receives $5,000 as recognition for their efforts in the areas of leadership, development, and partnerships. This award is for chapters who excel at focusing on helping students develop necessary skills and supporting chapter members to achieve success.
